Girls' wrestling round-up: SBS' Lemieux wins Preble crown

There was plenty of hardware won by the area's girls wrestlers on Saturday.

Tiani Lemieux made quick work of her competition as she pinned her way to a championship at Green Bay Preble on Saturday. All three of her pins were settled in the first period, two of which never reached 30 seconds. Her final win was against Southern Door's Hailey Veeser, a matchup that has traded victories during the season.

Two Southern Door wrestlers were right on the doorstep of individual titles at Green Bay Preble's girls' tournament on Saturday. Sydney Turner and Hailey Veeser had a combined six pins to their name before falling in their final match of the day. Delaney Wilke's day ended earlier than she would have liked with a medical forfeit, but she still took fourth in the tournament.

Luxemburg-Casco's Evelyn Lange and Kiley Georgel each brought home silver from their NEC/Bay Conference Girls' Wrestling Tournament. Georgel's road to second place was shorter than Lange's as she split her two matches while Lange pinned her way through three matches before falling in the championship match.
