Packers could be in store for more international games

A report from the Green Bay Press-Gazette suggests you may want to keep your passport next to your cheesehead for the foreseeable future.

According to the Press-Gazette's Richard Ryman, NFL owners approved an expanded schedule of international games last season that ultimately have teams hosting a game overseas at least every four years. In addition to previous international hosts in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Mexico, Brazil has been added as a host country. There is even a chance that the Packers could head out of the country this year as a visiting team after the Minnesota Vikings, the Chicago Bears, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Carolina Panthers were selected as international home teams.

The Packers had skirted international games in the past because of the impact home games have on the local economy and other teams' reluctance to give up a home date to play them. That changed in 2022 when the Packers were named the home team in a game against the New York Giants at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
