SBS' Lemieux, L-C's Ronsman and Delebreau go for gold at state tournament

Three local wrestlers will participate in Saturday's Grand March at the Kohl Center as a part of the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament Finals.

The dream is still alive for Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol's Tiani Lemieux as she heads to the title match for 138 pounds. Her semifinal match was longer than her last few matches combined, but Lemieux secured the pin midway through the second period to earn the finals berth.

The Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team will have two competitors strutting out to the mats during the Grand March of the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament. Max Ronsman secured his fourth straight trip to the finals after picking up a pair of decisions, while Caleb Delebreau will make his first trip. All of the other Spartans are in line for podium finishes with Jake Jandrin, Carson Blohowiak, Michael Bostwick, Blakelee Bastien, and Trace Schoenebeck picking up with wins in the consolation round after losing in the quarterfinals. Isaac Jerabek and Carson Neubert will enter their consolation brackets on Saturday after losing in the semifinals. Kiley Georgel is also still in line to place after picking up two more wins after her loss in the quarter-finals.

Hailey Veeser is in line to bring home hardware after the second day of the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament. Veeser won her quarterfinal match before losing in the semifinals to Lomira's Kara Kuge. Nora LeFevre and Sydney Turner both went 1-2 in their second day of action, falling in the second round of the consolation bracket.

Kewaunee will have no wrestlers competing on Saturday after falling short on Friday. Kemper Robinson and Mitchell Boeder each made the quarterfinals after winning their lone match on Thursday, but tough competition in that round and the consolation round ended their hopes for a podium finish.
