Schiltz scores 1000th point as Phoenix women clink title game berth

The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team is one win away from the NCAA Tournament after beating Purdue Fort Wayne 64-55 in Monday's Horizon League semifinals.

The Indiana Farmers Coliseum continues to be a tough place for the Phoenix as they found themselves down by two points at the end of the first quarter. In the second and fourth quarters, they would outscore the Mastodons to earn the rematch against Cleveland State in the title game. Calle Genke led all scorers with 16 points, Maddy Schreiber added 13 points, and Bailey Butler contributed eight. Luxemburg-Casco product Cassie Schiltz scored five points, pushing her above 1,000 in her Phoenix career.

The Vikings blew Wright State to earn their spot in the title game. Green Bay and Cleveland State split their matchups for the year, with each winning their home contest. The rubber match will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
