Southern Door looked within its own program to replace the outgoing Mark Jonas.
The Southern Door School Board officially hired Scott Mallien as its head football coach. Mallien previously served on the staff as the team's defensive coordinator. Under Mallien's watch, the Eagles' defense allowed more than 20 points only twice in 23 games the last two seasons.
It has been an offseason of change for the Eagles, which also replaced Jonas as its athletic director with Ben Kline earlier this month. Monday's meeting also saw Spencer Krause and Jaden Diller be named as baseball coaches under the guidance of John Berns.
