Blizzard earn first win against Barnstormers

A fourth-quarter shutout of the Iowa Barnstormers helped the Green Bay Blizzard earn a 35-24 win on Saturday at the Resch Center.

 

The two teams went back and forth all game before the final stanza, with a second-quarter field goal by the Barnstormers the difference. The Blizzard scored the game's final three touchdowns, including the go-ahead touchdown pass from Max Meylor to Harry Ballard and a rushing score by Jalyn Cagle in the fourth quarter.

 

Meylor threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as he accumulated 135 yards of total offense. Darius Peterson led the Barnstormers with 73 yards rushing and three touchdowns.

 

The Blizzard will have their first road game of the season on April 6th when they play at the Quad City Steamwheelers in Moline, Ill.
