The Milwaukee Bucks let a 19-point fourth-quarter lead slip away and lost to the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday night 128-124 in double overtime.
Playing without an injured LeBron James, the Lakers never led in regulation but tied the game by outscoring the Bucks 27-13 in the fourth quarter. The Bucks blew a 94-75 lead with under nine minutes to play.
In the first overtime, the Bucks had a 117-115 lead with under four seconds, but a foul on D’Angelo Russell and two subsequent free throws tied the game and sent it into a second overtime.
The Lakers closed out the second overtime by outscoring the Bucks 9-3 in the final 1:21 to pull off the unexpected comeback.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a triple-double leading the Bucks with 29 points and 21 rebounds, and 11 assists. Damien Lillard had 27, and Malik Beasley scored 21 but it was not enough as the Bucks fell to 46-26 in the Eastern Conference.
Milwaukee will now try and regroup on Thursday as they travel to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans (44-28).
