The Green Bay Gamblers responded to heartbreak by providing a little of their own in a 2-1 overtime win over the Youngstown Phantoms Thursday night.
Geno Carcone's first-period goal looked like it would be the only goal of the game before the Phantoms' Tomas Machu tied the game against the Gamblers with one of his own with just over 45 seconds remaining.
Michael DeAngelo took the drama out of overtime early, scoring less than 90 seconds into the extra frame to give the Gamblers the win in game one of the three-game set. The two teams play again on Friday and Saturday at 6:05 p.m.
