The Milwaukee Brewers evened the series with the Cincinnati Reds with a 9-5 victory on Tuesday evening at Great American Ball Park.
Brewer starter Joe Ross (1-0) went strong innings to pick up his first win since June of 2021. Giving up only two earned runs on five hits, Ross struck out seven and walked only one for Milwaukee.
Blake Perkins and Sal Froelich led the Brewer offense with three hits and Christian Yelich stayed hot by knocking in three runs. Milwaukee tallied 13 hits and took a commanding 9-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning.
The two teams will square off again in Cincinnati as Wade Miley will get his first start of the season on the mound in the third game of the four-game series starting at 5:40 p.m.
