Packerland golf has first meet of the year

The Packerland Conference will finally get its boys' golf season started on Thursday with a meet at Sturgeon Bay's Cherry Hills Golf Course.

Gibraltar, Kewaunee, NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy, Oconto, Peshtigo, Sevastopol, and Southern Door are all scheduled to participate when the meet begins at 4 p.m.

Earlier this week, the Luxemburg-Casco golf team finished 20 strokes behind Wrightstown to take second in Tuesday's North Eastern Conference meet. The Spartans scored a 357 at Irish Waters Golf Course near Freedom, two strokes better than Waupaca and Fox Valley Lutheran. James Glampe paced the Spartans with an 83 on the 18-hole golf course, which was good for fifth place. Lance Cherovsky finished in the top 10 with a score of 86, while teammates Landen Delebreau (13th, 90), Stanley Peot (23rd, 98), and Bryce Longlais (23rd, 98) all finished in the Top 25.
