L-C, Southern Door go 1-2 at Spartan Invitational

By Tim Kowols -- The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans Track Teams dominated their home invitational on Thursday, with the boys and girls winning team titles.

 

Both teams picked up double-digit wins over Southern Door for championships. On the boys' side, Hudson Thiry (400m), Mason Trimberger (100m hurdles, 300m hurdles), and Trevor Beaupre (long jump, triple jump) picked up individual wins while the Spartans won three of the four relays. For the girls, Madyson VanArk (high jump), Grace Seering (300m hurdles), McKenna Rank (400m), and Sienna Blowhowiak (100m, 200m) won individual titles while the team won two of the four relay events.

 

Speaking of the Eagles, they had their collection of strong performances in a pair of second-place finishes for their boys and girls teams. or the boys, Zach Lynch (100m, 200m), Ben Grota (1600m, 3200m), and Braeden VanRemortel captured event wins. Frankie Nellis (triple jump, long jump), and Elise jackson (100m hurdles) accomplished the same feat for the girls.

In Oconto Falls, the Kewaunee boys won the invitational, while the girl's team took second place. You can find the results of that meeting here. According to the Kewaunee Track and Field Facebook page, the Storm scored 155 points over host Oconto Falls, who came in second of the twelve teams with 140. The 155 points tie a school record for the most points scored at this Invitational. Wyatt Fay (3rd, pole vault), Faith Gerdmann (1st, shot put; 3rd, discus),

In Friday's track and field action, Sevastopol and Sturgeon Bay will compete against Dominican, Wausau West, Seymour, Athens (Cloverwood), Cedar Grove-Belgium, Gillett, Green Bay East, Green Bay Southwest, Green Bay West, Howards Grove, Lomira, Peshtigo, Port Washington, Sheboygan South, Notre Dame Academy, New London, St. Mary's Springs Academy, Iola-Scandinavia, Reedsville, and Denmark at St. Norbert College in De Pere beginning at 3 p.m.
