Soccer Roundup: Sturgeon Bay, Peshtigo play to 0-0 tie in shortened match

Area high school soccer players were able to squeeze in at least half an hour of action on a wet Tuesday night.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers and the Peshtigo Bulldogs battled through 35 minutes in a downpour only to have the scoreless game called at the half due to field conditions. In what was shaping up to be a conference showdown, Mother Nature made the final call.... 0-0 at the half, and the game was called by the referees with water gathering on the field in a heavy downpour.  Sturgeon Bay was looking to take the game to even the series with Peshtigo, but that will have to wait until next season or the regional matchups still to be determined. Next up for the Clippers is another conference match at host The United Team (Sevastopol/Gibraltar) on Thursday.
