In WIAA Division 5 Level 4 Playoff Football action Friday night, the Kewaunee Storm fell to the Lancaster Flying Arrows 52-26 at Brookfield Central High School. The Storm struck early twice in the first quarter on two touchdowns passes from Caleb Johnson to Jesse Kleiman. Kewaunee led 20-13 after the first quarter before Lancaster exploded for two second quarter scores to take a 27-20 lead into halftime. Kewaunee had a hard time containing quarterback Nathan Tranel throughout the game, as he amassed over 260 yards rushing with four touchdowns on only ten carries. Lancaster’s running back Tyler Glass also had a big game with 192 yards on 25 rushes, unofficially. Kleiman had a stellar game for the Storm with five catches for 152 yards and the two early scores. Johnson and Dylan Saxby rushed for over 120 yards each. Kewaunee finishes the year 11-2 overall as the sectional runner-up. Lancaster (13-0) now will play Stanley-Boyd in the Division 5 state championship game at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison next Thursday at 4pm.
