
Luxemburg-Casco fell 25-19, 25-21 in the championship match on Saturday in the De Pere Invitational girls volleyball tournament. The Spartans played the host school tough but came up just short of the tournament championship.
Luxemburg-Casco finished (3-0) in pool play, then topped Division 1 Kimberly 25-23, 18-25 and 15-3 in the semifinals.
Marissa Kline led L-C in the tournament with 101 assists, 30 kills and 32 digs. Maggie Liebeck added 51 kills and 30 digs and Kristen Cherney had 52 digs.
Kewaunee won five of their seven matches to take second place in the Bay Port Invitational. Kelsey Stangel dominated with 64 kills and 14 blocks. Alex Richard was equally impressive with 57 kills and 13 blocks. Kiley Heim ran the offense extremely well and tallied 128 assists while Jill Kleiman popped up 70 digs for the Storm.
The Algoma Wolves finished in fifth place at the Oostburg Invitational. Karissa Koss had 13 kills, 12 aces and 26 digs, McKenzie Mueller had 53 assists, Taylor Schmidt tallied 35 digs and Kennedy Blahnik finished with 24 kills for the Wolves.
