
A number of local high school athletes signed national letters of intent this week as college recruits were able to ink their futures. Sturgeon Bay's Savanna Townsend signed her national letter of intent committing to four years of scholarship swimming at Division 1 Iowa State.
Fellow Clipper senior Linnea Schmelzer also received major scholarship opportunities to continue her basketball career at Division 2 Truman State University in Missouri.
Oconto's two-time Packerland Conference Volleyball Player of the Year Sara DePouw will commit to Division 1 Bryant University in Rhode Island later this week.
Finally, Luxemburg-Casco senior Marissa Kline is thrilled to play her college volleyball in her back yard at UW-Green Bay. She will join former Spartan teammate Mikaela Gunderson on the volleyball court with the Phoenix next year.
