Boys Basketball Season Now In Full Swing

The game of the night Tuesday in high school boys basketball was Sturgeon Bay at Kewaunee. A Clipper 54-50 win over the Storm featured a fierce comeback bid by the Storm in the second half.  Nathan Abrahamson led all Sturgeon Bay scorers with 18 points. Riley Cordier added 10 points in the win. Kewaunee's Reggie Nimmer played like a man amongst boys for Kewaunee. His 25 points single handedly kept the Storm in the game.

Southern Door moved to (3-0) with a 74-66 win over Oconto last night in Packerland Conference action. Sophomore Mitch Neubauer scored 27 points to outduel Oconto's Corey Herbert and his 23 point output. Southern Door was clutch at the free throw line down the stretch as they hit 9-of-10 in the final minutes. Mitchell Gerend scored 12 and Cal McCarty added 15 points in the win.

N.E.W. Lutheran doubled up Sevastopol 66-33. The Blazers were led by Nathan Toenjes. His 13 points was outdone by Sevastopol senior Cody Giesseman's 18 points, but the Pioneers never got traction in the fast pace scheme played by NEW.

Algoma outscored Gibraltar 75-66 with great post play from Travis Kostichka. His 24 points and Hunter Prokash's 18 point performance were enough to hold off the Vikings. Brandon Steebs scored 21 points to lead Gibraltar.
