The non-conference schedule is nearing its end for Packerland Conference boys basketball teams. Most area rivalries will heat up next week, but first a chance to work out all the kinks against teams outside the Packerland Conference.
Algoma had their hands full with West De Pere and fell 66-59 last night. Jake Wiese scored a team high 21 points for the Wolves all behind the three point arc. A big third quarter almost brought Algoma all the way back, but the Phantoms kept up the pressure to hold on to victory. Travis Kostichka added 14 points in the loss.
Luxemburg-Casco opened up the Bay Conference schedule against Shawano last night and a great game ensued. A 48-47 nail biting victory for L-C featured a 19 point outing from 6' 1" David Vlotho.
The game was tied at the half and stayed close throughout. A go-ahead basket by Caleb Willims in the closing moments helped L-C hold on to victory.
