Freshman San Dekker from Sheboygan is now making his mark with the Wisconsin Badgers. He matched his career high with 19 points Tuesday night to lead No. 17 Wisconsin to a 77-46 victory over Nebraska.
Coming off the bench is a role Dekker is not accustomed to but he is certainly making the most of the situation. After leading Sheboygan Lutheran to the school’s first ever state championship last year with his dad as coach, Dekker has filled the role of sixth man extremely well as of late.
The win coupled with an Indiana loss has UW in position to take the regular season Big 10 Championship if the Hoosiers lose one of their remaining games and the Badgers win out. Wisconsin is now (20-8) overall and (11-4) in conference games.
Ryan Evans added 14 points and Ben Brust added 13 for the Badgers. Jared Berggren made history last night too becoming the all-time leader in blocks at UW with 126 in his career.
