The All-Conference votes were tallied and seven area girls basketball players made first team in the Packerland, six more were awarded second team and 14 others were named honorable mention for the 2012-2013 season.
For the second time in her high school playing career, Algoma’s Taylor Schmitt was named player of the year. This year’s honor was much more special than the first POY Award for her efforts during her sophomore campaign. This year she earned the honor after battling back from an ACL injury that robbed her of a chance to help her team to the state tournament a year ago.
