New York Brockport was not ready for the speed, control and confidence of UW Oshkosh senior pitcher Courtney Wautier this week. The Southern Door graduate threw the first no-hitter for the Titans since 2007.
Wautier is obviously enjoying her final opportunity to travel to Cape Coral, Florida for spring training. Wautier faced just one batter over the minimum as the Titans topped Brockport, 4-0 Wednesday. The only runners to reach base against Wautier came on an error during the fifth inning and a hit-by-pitch in the seventh. Wautier and Kimberly Lohre did combine for a five-inning no-hitter last season.
Oshkosh is now (8-4) on the season. Courtney is responsible six of those wins with a sparkling (6-1) record to date. She has pitched 45 innings, struck out 46 batters and has an amazing ERA of just 1.39 this season.
Pitching perfection is nothing new to Courtney Wautier. At Southern Door, she pitched 10 no-hitters, two perfect games and 40 shut outs while wearing the Columbia blue for the Eagles.
