Milwaukee Brewers’ prospective No. 2 starting pitcher Marco Estrada gave up two runs on two hits and three walks in five innings yesterday in Milwaukee’s 5-1 loss to Los Angeles.
Estrada had been dealing with a stomach bug and body aches over the past several days and wasn’t feeling 100% at game time but was pleased with his pitching. The pitcher says he was glad to get his pitch count up after it dropped during the World Baseball Classic.
Angels’ pitcher Garrett Richards gave up only one run on three hits in 6 1/3 innings. Brewers shortstop Jean Segura scored the lone Brewers run on an Aramis Ramirez RBI double in the fourth.
Milwaukee plays split-squad games today – at home against the Rockies and at the Padres. Both games get underway at 3:05.
