Opening day at Wrigley Field was a windy one yesterday when the Brewers topped the Cubs 7-4. An exciting first half inning featured four Milwaukee runs. After Nori Aoki led off with a single, his fifth hit in two games, four more Brewers notched hits. It was the single most productive inning of the young season.
Martin Maldonado lofted a fly ball to the right field corner with two outs and three runs scored. In the second inning, Ryan Braun made it 5-0. He finished 3x4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI.
Marco Estrada pitched seven quality innings while Jim Henderson notched a nail-biting save.
