Are you ready for some football? With the NFL Draft just over a week away, the Green Bay Packers opened their 2013 offseason program yesterday. The offseason workout program is a nine-week period that is divided into three phases.
Players are focusing on strength and conditioning workouts during phase one. Time is also set aside for individual meeting time for players with their coaches.
The next phase will combine workouts with on-field meetings. Finally, phase three will feature a series of organized team activities, with a three-day mandatory minicamp included. This year’s minicamp is slated for June 4-6, with the final OTA scheduled on June 14.
Coach McCarthy said the program is really an opportunity for the team to go through a basic introduction to the offensive, defensive and special teams playbook installations.
