The Reds pummeled the Milwaukee Brewers yesterday in Cincinnati 13-7.
The brunt of the beating fell on Milwaukee’s rookie pitcher, Hiram Burgos. In three innings Burgos allowed 12 runs (10 earned), 11 hits, three walks and had just two strikeouts. That’s one of the worst outings in Brewers history, but Burgos was manager Ron Roenicke’s only choice.
Burgos left the Brewers in a 12-4 hole when the bullpen took over at the bottom of the fourth.
The final game of the series is at 12:10 today.
