Algoma Wins Packerland Softball Conference Championship

In a rain delay makeup game that started in the second inning, the Algoma girls softball team crushed NEW Lutheran 15-0 to claim an outright Packerland Conference championship. Taylor Schmidt hit a fence-clearing blast to left-center field to spark the Wolves offense. Andie Vandertie and Kathy Bluett each added two hits in the win. Jordan Demmin was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts.

Sturgeon Bay lost a non-conference game with Shawano 13-6. Jackie Herlache, Natalie Marchant and Marissa Ehlers had two hits apiece for the Clippers.

Sevastopol impressed against Coleman 19-1. Clair McInerney, Holly Laplant, Adaline Nelson, and Lucy Bley had two hits apiece in the non-conference home game. Megan LeClair was the winning pitcher. She struck out 10 Coleman batters.
