Door County League Baseball Results



After the fifth week of Door County League Baseball Sunday, only one team remains undefeated. Kolberg topped Institute 16-6 behind a three home run day from Kurt Ray. Institute committed 10 errors to help keep Kolberg undefeated. Cody Giesseman was 5x5 to lead Institute at the plate as the Cubs fell to (1-4).

Egg Harbor stayed a game back in the standings with a 14-2 win over Washington Island. Brian Crook’s first inning grand slam sent host Egg Harbor to a (4-1) mark on the season. The Islanders fell to (3-2) on the season.

West Jacksonport edged Maplewood 12-9. The Ports never trailed thanks to a three-run blast in the first by Steve Jilot. Allan Karas had three hits including a single, double and a triple. The Mets fell to (1-4).

Sister Bay won a pitcher’s duel 1-0 over Baileys Harbor. Will Hendriksen earned the win by allowing only four hits for the Bays. They stayed in a tie for third place at (3-2) while the A’s fell to (0-4). Tom Sawyer had two of Sister Bay’s three total hits and scored the lone run in the ball game.
