A first-inning grand slam by Atlanta’s Brian McCann gave the Braves a comfortable head start in their 7-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday afternoon at Miller Park.
The Brewers couldn’t pull off a sweep after winning the first two games in the three-game series.
Even worse news for the Brewers is the injury center fielder Carlos Gomez sustained in the fourth inning. Gomez exited the game after he went high to grab a drive and came down awkwardly, pinning his left arm against the wall.
Milwaukee starter Alfredo Figaro got waxed in 3 1/3 innings allowing six earned runs. On the offensive side Logan Schafer and Jonathan Lucroy each had 2 RBIs.
The Brewers will get a break Monday before hosting Chicago in a three-game series.
