One of the top plays of the Major League Baseball season unfolded with two outs in the top of the ninth inning between the Brewers and Reds. Milwaukee centerfielder Carlos Gomez robbed Joey Votto of a two-run home run with a perfectly timed leaping grab over the centerfield wall to hand the Brewers a 4-3 win.
Game one of a three game series with the Reds was filled with drama, but Milwaukee found a way to win the opener. Kyle Lohse was credited with the win after six and two thirds innings of solid pitching. Another quality start by the new Brewers ace was much needed.
Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy's two-run homer in the first inning jump started the scoring for Milwaukee and gave Lohse a cushion moving forward.
