The Brewers never found their rhythm Wednesday in a 6-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. A three game sweep attempt came up short for Milwaukee at Miller Park. Johnny Hellweg took the loss for ‘The Crew’ in a 4 and 1/3 innings outing. He gave up four runs, five more walks and hit a batter. The mid season call up was sent back to Class A as a matter of logistics after the game.
The Brewers tied the game on Carlos Gomez's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning, but the Reds added single runs in the second, third and fifth, all charged to Hellweg.
Reds starter Mike Leake earned the win. He allowed only two runs on four hits in 8 and 1/3 innings.
