No Surprises Sunday In Door County League

All of the teams with winning records won Sunday in the Door County League Baseball League. Running their record to (9-1) was the hard to stop Egg Harbor team with a 4-2 victory over Maplewood. In one of the best games played by the Mets all season, Maplewood kept this one close. Six singles in the top of the sixth inning plated Egg Harbor’s only runs of the ball game. Jason Fuller led the way with three hits in the game. Dave Jilot and Rob Schartner combined for the win. Algoma’s Chad LaLuzerne and Southern Door’s Jon Price each had two hits to pace the Mets.

Sister Bay and Kolberg each kept pace with the league leaders. The Bays crushed Institute 7-3 and Kolberg doubled up winless Baileys Harbor 12-6. Stuart Larsen and Justin Hartle led the way for Sister Bay at the plate. Cody Giesseman Adam Schartner, and Kirk Schleicher al had multi-hit games for the Cubs. Jeff Sperber and Austin Rohe each had three hits to lift Kolberg.  Greg Klaubauf and Eric Lardinois had two hits each.

West Jacksonport kept the three way tie for second place alive by besting Washington Island 7-3. Tanner Biwer, Davis Stoffel and Woody Schartner all had two hits for the Ports.
