Packers Family Night Saturday At Lambeau

A fun-filled day and evening awaits Packers fans this Saturday for ‘Packers Family night.' This is the 13th year of the event.

Family Night will feature an intra-squad scrimmage between the Packers’ offense and defense. Evening activities get underway in the stadium at 5:30 p.m., followed by on-field football drills at 6:30 and the scrimmage at approximately 7:30. The event will benefit the Wonderful Kids foster care adoption program, a signature program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

The Packers Experience also returns this year in the Tundra Tailgate Zone with a wide array of inflatable games. It will open at 11 a.m. on Saturday and close at 7:30 p.m. In addition, the Family Night Picnic, will take placefrom 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Lambeau Field’s east-side parking lot. The evening will feature other activities for the younger fans, including sidewalk chalk and airbrush tattoos.

The Fan Walkway area, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is located along the sidewalk from Oneida Street to the Oneida Nation Gate on Lambeau Field’s east side, will feature Packers displays for fans to enjoy, and a display of animals from the Wildlife Sanctuary.

Students from the Milwaukee School of Engineering will be at Lambeau Field beginning today to construct a replica of Lambeau Field made out of more than 130,000 Legos. The replica will be finished in time for Family Night and will be displayed in the Atrium from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Packers, Edvest and the Salvation Army are teaming up to host a school supply drive during Family Night to help local children and families in need. School supplies will be collected at the Lambeau Field parking lot entrances, and a Salvation Army kettle will be placed at each collection point for cash donations, as well. All supplies will be donated to the Salvation Army “Tools for Schools” program and the Back to School Store.

Other activities include the popular “Jerseys Off Our Backs” promotion with approximately 20 jerseys – all of which will have been worn by Packersplayers in the just-completed scrimmage – to be given away in a random drawing;and the spectacular Fireworks Show to conclude thenight.

The Packers will also welcome representatives from 15 of the 19 Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies in Wisconsinto Family Night as their official community guests. More than 40 representatives of the organization will make up the Packers Ambassador Line as the players take the field.

Fans are reminded that all individuals, regardless of age, require a ticket for admittance. In case of inclement weather, no refunds will be issued unless all stadium activities – from 5:30 p.m. until the end of the fireworks show – are cancelled.

The Packers are reminding fans of the NFL’s updated stadium safety policy. No bags or purses will be allowed inside Lambeau Field unless they are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and are no larger than 12” by 6” by 12”. Stadium cushions are also not allowed as a part of the new policy, however, stadium seats and stadium pads that contain no pockets or zippers and are 18” wide or smaller are allowed. Parking for the event will be $5, with net proceeds to be donated to the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Program.  Due to the potentially large number of people attending, parking will be limited. Fans are asked to arrive early. Parking is also available in neighboring areas.
