Algoma Wins Slugfest With Auburndale In D6 Playoffs

Algoma Football is moving on in the WIAA Division 6 post season. After a 22-15 hard fought win over Auburndale Friday night Algoma will again play at Southern Door this upcoming Friday or Saturday. The game will likely be played Friday night against Iola-Scandinavia.

Ben Sealey carried the ball 15 times for 133 yards and two touchdowns while Sam Koss toted the pigskin 20 times for 129 yards. The thunder and lightning style backfield pounded away at the Apache defense and helped the Wolves dominate the time of possession. Quarterback Hunter Prokash completed only one pass on the evening but ran seven times for 44 yards.

Southern Door High School will again host the Algoma Level 2 playoff game. Their opponent, Iola-Scandinavia, crushed Crandon 49-12 Friday night. Each and every Wolves playoff football game, for the remainder of the post-season will air on 102.1 FM WRKU.
