Harold “Harry” Arthur Kohls, 82, of the Town of Sevastopol, WI, fell asleep in the loving arms of his family and awoke in the arms of the Lord Wednesday evening, May 15, 2019 at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

     Harry was born in Jacksonport, WI, to Amelia and Arthur Kohls on December 7, 1936. He entered the Army in 1955 after attending Sevastopol High School. After his service in 1958, Harry worked in Milwaukee, WI for several years.

     He married Evelyn Brungraber on June 11, 1960 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in West Jacksonport, WI. They spent almost 60 years together, most of them in Door County.

     Harry worked for Peterson Builders then joined the Navy office in Sturgeon Bay. 

     In 1995, Harry moved to Ingleside, TX and retired from the Navy office in 1997.

     Surviving Harry are his wife, Evelyn and their two sons: Warren (Holli) of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Brian (Johanna) of Fairhope, AL. Six grandchildren: Warren (Mehgan) Kohls II of Waupaca, WI, Lance Kohls of Milwaukee, WI, and Arielle “Alister” Kohls of Sheboygan, WI, and Brandon Kohls of Minneapolis, MN, Isabelle Kohls of Fairhope, AL, and Noah Kohls of Fairhope, AL. One great-grandchild: Cora Kohls, Waupaca, WI. Harry is also survived by his brother, Donald (Donna) Kohls of Maple Heights, OH and sister, Bernice (Edward) Henning of Sheboygan Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his sister, Gertrude (Ray) Duman. 

     Visitation for family and friends will be held at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Valmy on Friday, May 17, 2019 after 9:30 a.m.

     A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Benjamin Enstad officiating. Harry will be laid to rest on the family property on Lost Lake in the Town of Jacksonport.

     Memorials may be given in Harry’s name for Zion Lutheran School (3937 County Road V, Egg Harbor, WI 54209).
