Norman W. Kiehnau

Norman W. Kiehnau, 88 years, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at his home in Institute early Sunday morning, July 21, 2019.

     He was born December 08, 1930 in the Town of Jacksonport on the farm of his parents, William N. and Lydia Laura (Treichal) Kiehnau. Norman attended Sevastopol High School. In 1951 Norman was called to serve his country in the U.S. Marine Corp until 1953. Norman owned and operated Institute Motors for 26 years. He had worked in the Milwaukee area early in his career. He had worked 13 years for Boehlke Chevrolet, then at Russ Darrow as service manager.

     On June 12, 1971 he married Sharon E. (Mueller) Mork at West Jacksonport and they had 48 blessed years together.

     He was a faithful and active member of Bay View Lutheran Church. Norman loved gardening and playing cards with his family and many dear friends. Norman was a member of VFW Post #3088 and served at Post Commander.

     Norman is survived by his wife, Sharon; his two children, Todd Kiehnau and Wendy (John) Welch; two stepsons, James (Barb) Mork, David (Lynn) Mork; grandchildren, Maxwell (Ryan) Reeves, Ryan Mork, Andy (Naomi) Mork, Jeremy van Sliedrecht, Anna Mork; great-grandchildren, Maggie, Evie, Max Reeves, Mary Mork; brother, Donald “Butch” (Ruth) Kiehnau; and sister, Mildred “Joey” Radtke.

     Norman was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lydia Kiehnau; five brothers, Harold, Fred “Fritz”, William, Rueben, Leonard “Mike”, Carl, infant brother, Henry; three sisters, Dorothy Perkins, Florence “Dickie” Reagles, and Olive Braley; stepdaughter, Mary Mork; and grandson, Samuel Mork.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Bay View Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. Military honors by VFW Post #3088 will follow services at the church. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, West Jacksonport.

     Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Huehns Funeral Home and at the church Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.

     Memorials may be directed in his memory for Bay View Lutheran Church-Property Committee at 340 W. Maple Street, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235, and VFW Post #3088 at 744 Delaware Street, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235.
