Magdalene E. Opicka, 95, Casco, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019. Magdalene was born on June 23, 1924 to the late Cornelius and Laura (Laurent) Stoller. She married Donald F. Opicka on October 4, 1944 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, he preceded her in death on July 13, 2000. She was a member of St. Adalbert’s in Slovan then Holy Trinity in Casco. A Member of Rosary Society and Catholic Order of Foresters for many years. She enjoyed gardening, baking, playing cards, quilting, and crafting. She especially enjoyed spending time with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Magdalene is survived by her three sons David (Donna) Opicka, Dennis (Diane) Opicka, and Duane (Sharon) Opicka; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Dan Opicka and his children Derek and Kayla, Tracy Opicka, Douglas Opicka, Chad (Laura) Opicka and their children, Hudson, Grayson and Katelynn, Darren Opicka, Michelle (Todd) Chaudoir and their children, Trevor, Jacob and Raegan, Marc (Chelsea) Opicka and their daughter Hailey; sister-in-law, Donna (Opicka) Goettler; and brother-in-law Jim Goettler. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald; her parents Cornelius and Laura Stoller; brother, Eli (Doris) Stoller; sister, Cecelia (Hilary) Bunda; and grandson, Lance Cpl. Dean Opicka.
Family and friends may call at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home, Casco, Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday morning from 9:30-11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am with Fr. Milton Suess officiating. Burial will follow in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Slovan.
