Nancy Lois Wesa

Nancy Lois Wesa, 83, formerly from Port Washington and Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Evergreen Skilled Nursing Facility in Oshkosh.

She was born December 26, 1935 in West Allis, daughter of the late John and Lillian (Teich) Stoll. Nancy lived in West Allis and attended Franklin School until fifth grade before their family moved to Egg Harbor. She attended Egg Harbor Grade School, eventually graduating from Gibraltar High School in Fish Creek with the Class of 1953. Nancy then went on to receive her diploma from Door-Kewaunee Teachers College in Algoma and taught at Washington School in West Jacksonport.

On March 31, 1956, Nancy was united in marriage with Thomas Wesa, Jr. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Juddville, the church where she was confirmed. After getting married, Nancy and Tom moved to Port Washington and raised their family of five daughters. She worked at the Ozaukee Press, St. Alphonsus Hospital and Grandview Clinic. When it was time for Tom to retire, they moved back to Fish Creek and then later to Sturgeon Bay, where they lived for 20 years. While living in Sturgeon Bay, she worked at Ministry Door County Medical Center. Together, the two were members of Bay View Lutheran Church. In 2014, Tom and Nancy moved to Ozaukee County to be closer to their daughters. In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed needlework, specifically, crocheting.

Nancy will be missed by her five daughters, Debra (Mike) Budzisz of Oshkosh, Diane (Bob) Nelson of Oostburg, Patricia (Kent)  Kohn of Eustis, FL, Carol (Patrick) Corcoran of Brookfield, and Cheryl Hock of Dousman; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Reimer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry (Margaret) Wesa and Arlene Fisher; and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; parents, John and Lillian Stoll; in-laws, Thomas Sr. and Alice Wesa; and brothers-in-law, Donald Wesa, Harris Wesa, Donald Reimer and John Fisher.

Nancy’s life will be honored with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Juddville with Pastor Frank Kauzlarich officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest in Bayside Cemetery in the Town of Sevastopol.
