With the help of additional volunteers, the Kewaunee County Food Pantry has increased its hours of operations. President Ken Marquardt says the pantry will now be open on the third Wednesday of the month from 4:30 until 7 pm besides Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 until 1. He says the pantry can now meet the demand of those who qualify and may work during the day. The pantry is serving a number of new faces every week, according to Marquardt.
Marquardt estimates that the Kewaunee County Food Pantry gives away about 12,000 pounds of food every month. The pantry is located on Sunset Avenue in the Algoma Industrial Park area.
