Whether it is making a donation online or swinging a set of golf clubs, the Door County YMCA is working hard to ensure it can make the biggest impact it can for its community. Last month, the Door County YMCA announced that it had raised more than 583,000 to exceed its annual campaign goal. While membership fees go to support the programming you take advantage of when you visit one of their two centers, annual campaign funds go to support the YMCA’s membership assistance initiative and programs related to teen leadership, youth scholarships, hunger prevention, and chronic disease. Door County YMCA Philanthropy Executive Brett Cleveland says the positive stories they help create go beyond the people coming in for a good workout.

We also learn about choosing brightly colored swimsuits as an added safety measure to increase visibility in water. Honold showcases the YMCA Phones Down, Eyes Up campaign, a national initiative that promotes attentive supervision in and around the water.
