Door County a growing attraction for electric car owners

Door County will be marking five years in May since power charging stations were built to accommodate electric cars.  The first two were installed at the Door County Visitor Bureau on Green Bay Road in Sturgeon Bay.  Since then over a dozen electric charging stations have been set up county-wide.  Visitor Bureau Director of Communication and PR Jon Jarosh says that's why the bureau took the first step to attract electric vehicle owners.

The Landmark Resort in Egg Harbor is among the businesses that have invested in electric car recharging stations.  Resort Marketing Director Jeff Larson says it was a natural fit with Landmark's commitment to eco-friendly practices and the effort to attract visitors wanting to go green while in Door County.

Depending on where visitors stay, recharging an electric car is offered free at the visitor bureau, the municipal buildings and most of the resorts and motels that offer charging stations.
