Practice safe burning techniques

Before you start a fire after a long week or a part of your spring clean-up, fire chiefs in Door County want to make sure you are doing so safely. The fire danger level is currently listed as high in the area thanks to dead grass and leaves recently uncovered by disappearing snow. After making sure you secure a burn permit from your local municipality, Gibraltar Fire Chief Andy Bertges says you should really take note of the weather before you light a match.

Bertges also recommends setting up smaller burn piles rather than one big one and keeping it away from other flammable materials. For more tips on how to conduct a safe burn, you can visit this story online.
