If talking farming to strangers in Casco makes for a great day for Kinnard Farms co-owner Lee Kinnard, then he has about a month and a half to rest his voice. Preparations are underway for Kewaunee County Breakfast on the Farm, the annual Father’s Day celebration of all things dairy that attracts thousands from across the region. It will be the first time Kinnard Farms hosts the event, which will include tours of the operation itself, since Lee’s parents Alvin and Milly started the dairy in 1948. Along with his brother Rodney and sister Jackie, Kinnard cannot wait to show people what happens on their farm on a daily basis.
The Kewaunee County Dairy Promotion Committee, which puts on the Breakfast on the Farm, is currently looking for volunteers to help set-up, tear down, serve food, and run activities. Kewaunee County Breakfast on the Farm begins at 7 a.m. with a polka mass followed by food service from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m on June 16th.
