Sturgeon Bay businesses Quantum PC and Cadence, Inc. were honored along with the late Ellsworth Peterson during Wednesday’s Door County Economic Development Corporation Annual Meeting. Cadence, Inc. was named “Industry of the Year” after expanding its operation in the Sturgeon Bay Industrial Park and continuing to offer good-paying manufacturing jobs in the area. Cadence Vice President of Manufacturing Sandy Sekadlo was with the company when they won the award 30 years ago as Overland Bolling. She says it is a tremendous honor.
Quantum PC was recognized as entrepreneur of the year for their efforts to help address the area’s current broadband limitations. Earlier this week while being honored for their recent Best of Door County win for computer repair, Erin Helgeson says its customer service is important.
Peterson was honored with a lifetime achievement award during the annual meeting for his time running Peterson Builders and supporting local organizations before he passed away last year at the age of 94.
