A Feed My People initiative is giving area schools a helping hand when it comes to making sure all children are eating healthier meals. The Backpack Buddies program delivers food for students up to 5th grade and who qualify for reduced or free lunches. Estella Huff, executive director of Feed My People in Door County explains how the “mini-meals” are coordinated and distributed.
The program benefits over 300 children and has been done over the past five years during the school year, according to Huff.
