You will have to wait a little bit longer to get your soaring views from a reconstructed Eagle Tower at Peninsula State Park. Higher than expected costs from bidding contractors are to blame for the project being delayed until the late fall to early winter with a possible opening slated for next year. Friends of Peninsula State Park and the Department of Natural Resources have been in touch since the final design was approved. Business manager Steve Strucely says he is still optimistic despite the news.
Friends of Peninsula State Park has raised over $750,000 to rebuild Eagle Tower after it was closed for safety reasons in 2015. The project also received $750,000 in the last state budget.
