The village of Egg Harbor is preparing itself for possibly assisting in the efforts to redevelop Alpine Resort. The family-owned business, which includes 250 acres and a half-mile of frontage on Green Bay, went on the market close to a year ago. Through a tax incremental financing district, the village would help a future developer rehabilitate the existing structures. Village administrator Ryan Heise says that deal would disappear if a developer decided to make the resort as it is known today go away.
Heise says it is relatively low risk since the area that would be designated as a part of the TIF district would be constrained to that geographic location. The resort was originally listed at $15 million.
