DCEDC to outline housing shortage response plans

Door County residents will learn more about efforts to create more housing that's affordable at a series of meetings in May.  The “Community-wide Meetings About Housing” will be held by the Door County Economic Development Corporation.  That follows an EDC study which highlighted where affordable housing is most needed.  Executive Director Jim Schuessler says the public forums will help outline the next steps to meeting those needs.

Schuessler says the public meetings will also look at the dollars and cents aspects needed to provide more affordable housing.

The first of the “Community-wide Meetings About Housing” is scheduled for May 21st at the Old Village Hall on Highway 42 in Sister Bay.  That will be followed by other meetings on May 29th at the Sturgeon Bay High School Auditorium on Michigan Street and on May 30th at Southern Door High School Auditorium on  County Highway DK in Brussels.  Each meeting will begin at 6:30 PM
