The ability for minors to vape in the city of Sturgeon Bay could go up in smoke if the common council approves the second reading of an ordinance Tuesday night. The ordinance forbids people under the age of 18 from possessing and purchasing electronic cigarettes in the city. For individuals, the first violation would result in a $50 fine with every ticket after that costing the person caught $75. Businesses could be fined up to $100 for selling vape products to minors. The Sturgeon Bay Common Council will also take on two west side waterfront issues as it takes another look at the ad hoc committees recommendations and the city’s development agreement with the Sturgeon Bay Historical Society. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the council chambers.
