As the United Auto Workers members continue to remain on the picket line against General Motors, area car dealers are dealing with the local ramifications of the strike. Both United Auto Workers and General Motors representatives are reportedly preparing for a long strike that began over a week ago. Jim Rabas, co-owner of Algoma Motors GMC-Buick, says the strike is having a big impact on inventory levels at his dealership.
Rabas adds that his parts department is affected as well.
Rabas hopes the labor dispute can be resolved quickly between the UAW and GM because the strike is slowly crippling his business operation.
