Homecoming celebrations carry importance

Former students from across the region will be coming back over the coming weeks as high schools in Door and Kewaunee Counties celebrate homecoming. Southern Door kicked off the annual rites of fall for the area last week with Sturgeon Bay, Gibraltar, and Kewaunee taking their turn this time around. Pep rallies, bonfires, football games, and dances keep the students engaged with homecoming all week long. Don’t be fooled though. Gibraltar Secondary School Principal Gereon Methner says the staff members get pretty involved as well.

The public is invited to select homecoming events, but a small fee may be required. Luxemburg-Casco, Algoma, and Sevastopol conclude homecoming season with their schedules of activities next week.
