While other youth organizations around them are branching out to be more co-ed, local Girl Scouts leaders are sticking with what they know best. Forty-six troops dot Door and Kewaunee Counties with various opportunities available. Like many organizations, more emphasis has been placed with science, technology, engineering, and math skills to help fill in possible job needs in the future. Melissa Loest from the Girls Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes says their program allows members to be themselves.
